Putting members at the center of section operations by engaging members in the decision-making process, offering opportunities for members to volunteer in various activities, and addressing not only technical but also professional development needs of members. Helping members to elevate their membership status to higher grades.
Publishing IEEE UAE news in the local media and across social media platforms. Publicizing IEEE UAE Section and its members as a source of technical expertise in the UAE. Establishing formal ties with technical schools, universities, government institutions, non-profit entities, and industries.
ESSA BASAEED, Ph.D.
Essa Basaeed has been an active member of the IEEE UAE Section since he joined as a student member in 2006. He first served as the IEEE student branch chair at Khalifa University and organized the first technical trip to Finland. Furthermore, he participated in the first IEEE UAE Student Day where his team won the first prize in the web design competition. Then, he was appointed as the webmaster of the section. Soon after, he was nominated and elected as the secretary of the section. He also played important roles in organizing activities such as his role as the general secretary of the 2011 IEEE GCC Conference and the founder & organizer of the 2011 AlKindi Student Workshop on Cryptology. He was recognized on several occasions for his outstanding service to IEEE UAE Section. He currently serves on the board of IEEE vTools committee.
Essa Basaeed obtained his B. Eng (Hons.), M.Sc., and PhD in computer engineering from Khalifa University. Dr. Essa is a recipient of many awards and recognitions such as the m-Government Award for University Students (Government Summit 2014), Young Emirati Researcher Prize 2011, and the IET Prize for the year 2007.
Dr. Essa is also a developer of websites and mobile apps such as www.coopStocks.com and its associated app , www.almaraseem.com , and reliefApp.
